About the Artist
Ben Edwards, also known by his artist alias "Benwards," is a visionary mixed-media artist whose life's journey has been marked by determination, resilience, and an unwavering passion for art. Born and raised in the vibrant artist community of Carmel, California, Ben's creative journey began at a young age, surrounded by a melting pot of artistic expression and inspiration.
In the late 1990s, Ben began delving into the world of Adobe Photoshop and digital art. This newfound passion sparked a fusion of traditional and digital art, allowing him to experiment with various mediums and techniques, pushing the boundaries of his creative process.
However, in 2017, fate dealt a harsh blow to Ben's artistic journey when a life-altering accident left him paralyzed from the neck down, transforming him into a quadriplegic. This devastating turn of events could have deterred many, but not Ben. He refused to allow his physical limitations to define him or diminish his artistic spirit.
Adapting to his new reality, Ben harnessed the power of cutting-edge technology and specialized programs to continue creating art. Embracing the world of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), he found a space to share his unique vision with the world. My Background
My love for art and technology began at an early age. I began drawing and painting in my youth but never took it too seriously. I've been taking pictures since I took my first photography class in high school. I would often scan my images (very slowly) and spend hours playing around with altering them on photoshop.
I'm inspired by the love I have for my home town and from my travels around the world. Throughout history, art has inspired art. I have always been a student of the many great artists and styles that have come before me. In my creative process I am often inspired by or try to pay homage to these great styles and artists. Mostly, I try to make make art that makes me happy...hopefully it makes you feel happy as well.
